Running for the Royal Marines Crosdale, who was based in Devon for several years, shot to the front from the gun and was never headed. At halfway he had a lead of over a minute from Exeter Harrier Andrew Chambers and Totnes-based Tipton Harrier Ashley Humphreys, who were running together.
